You Weirdos!
You might be my favourite weirdos.
After writing a couple of hundred readings over the last few months, it's clear that almost all of you have an "unusual" or "unexpected" side to your lives.
I have been completely immersed in your stories, your dead friends, and the small details that make up your lives lately. As I emerge from that marathon now, I'm left with a very clear feeling: the most interesting people I have dealt with are those who have stopped trying to be so super-sensible.
Those of you who decided that just being yourself was the best way to live ended up living really, really interesting lives—and you have opinions that have made me question my own views (and that's a good thing).
I see it all the time; people often come to me feeling "lost," as if they've lost their direction in life. Sometimes it feels as if they have to cut away the part of themselves that makes them exactly "them"—their unique spark—just to fit into everyday life.
My favourite weirdos from the last couple of months don't announce their own uniqueness. They just live it. They have stopped caring about what is "trendy" or what the neighbours might think. They have realized that life is too short to be a pale copy of everyone else. My friend David, who has been on the other side for twenty years now, said it best: you waste so much time making excuses just so you don't have to look at yourselves in the mirror, instead of just being.
Does this make you, my beautiful readers, a bunch of weirdos? I really hope so! There is nothing more beautiful than someone who dares to wrap themselves in their own "cosy weirdness" and roll around in it. Love it!
That's where your intuition gets room to breathe, and that's where you actually start living your own life, by your own rules.
So if you feel a bit outside the box today, or if you are carrying a dream, opinions, thoughts, or fantasies that seem a bit too "crazy"—good! Unpack that unusual side of yourself and be proud of it. If it means you break out of your "A4 box," then that's even better!
Be proud of being different! The world doesn't need more copies; it needs you to be exactly as weird as you were meant to be.
Have a fantastic week, you wonderful weirdos.
Simon
