I keep overhearing the dead, and they keep shutting the door on me

What is going on?

Over the last week I have heard more spirits around me than I have in a long time.

It is not specific people trying to come through to me. It is more like the sort of chatter you hear when people are talking in another room. I can hear them, but I cannot make out what they are saying.

It is always a group of people, never just one. They talk at normal volume, as if it does not matter whether I hear them or not.

BUT. And this is the strange part. When I notice them, they stop talking and look at me as if I am being rude by listening in on a private conversation. There is usually one person who holds my main attention, and he or she more or less slams the door in my face to keep me out.

This has not happened once or twice. Over the last couple of weeks it has happened at least once a day, usually several times.

Yes, yes, I know, I talk to dead people all the time — but this is odd. I feel like I am interrupting something I should not be.

At the same time, if I was not supposed to hear these people, I would not be able to. It is not as though I am free to do whatever I like in the spirit world. Both I and the spirit world know that I only have a visitor's pass, and certain areas are usually out of bounds.

So, my all-knowing Facebook folk, I am opening this up to you. I am turning to you for suggestions about what is happening. Why am I hearing all these different people and then getting repeatedly thrown out of their conversations?

Feel free to comment. I will gratefully take any suggestion that might point me in the right direction.

I was about to press post on this, and then I heard those people again. They are currently in the area outside my office, a few stairs down. I can hear them moving chairs around as if they are sitting down for a meeting.

And now they have shut me out again. So strange.
