Your scars aren't mistakes. They're the map of how far you've come and the monsters you've beaten. Stop chasing a perfect life, and start living the one you've actually got.

Once upon a time... and they all lived happily ever after.

It's a nice thought, but honestly, that's the Disney version of life, and for most of us it isn't real. It's constructed, unrealistic, and to be honest, a bit boring (once you're past the age of nine).

Real life is much more like a Tolkien story. It's full of ugliness, unexpected battles, long stretches of trudging through the dark, and moments of sheer terror. And yes, by the time the story ends, things have changed, and people have been lost.

But isn't that a far better story to be able to tell?

We should embrace a life that's actually possible. A life where we allow ourselves to have adventures, to fail miserably, to fight the world's monsters (and the ones inside our own heads), and to fall head over heels for the wrong person at the wrong time. And if we're lucky, for the right person when we least expect it.

I want you to look at your scars, really look at them. The ones people can see, and the ones they can't.

Those scars are your map. They show exactly where you've been and how much you've survived. They aren't signs of weakness; they're proof of your strength and your staying power. A life without scars is a life that hasn't been lived.

In my work as a psychic medium, I don't help people find their Disney ending. I help them identify the ugly things on their path, and I give them the weapons and the clarity they need to keep walking through their own epic story.
