A life full of mistakes, drama, lessons and laughter is a spiritually rich life. A life spent on the sidelines to avoid getting hurt or making a mess is a wasted opportunity.
We're all afraid of making the wrong choice. Worried about messing it up, failing, or having a "bad" experience.
From a spiritual perspective there's something far worse: doing nothing, making no choice at all.
We get so hung up on trying to live a "good" life that we forget the whole point of being here. We become paralysed, waiting for the perfect moment, trying to avoid a bad result, waiting for a guaranteed positive outcome, the absolute certainty that we're doing the right thing.
But the down-to-earth, honest truth is that the spirit world doesn't care. It doesn't distinguish between good and bad experiences. It distinguishes between experience and nothing.
A life full of mistakes, drama, lessons and laughter is a spiritually rich life. A life spent on the sidelines to avoid getting hurt or making a mess is a wasted opportunity.
Every experience is valid because every experience teaches the soul something. They all count, because they all make us bigger people, whether we believe it or not. Even the genuinely unpleasant, awkward, cringe-worthy experiences help us grow in a spiritual sense.
The absolute worst thing you can do with the body and the life we've been given is to do nothing with it.
Take a chance. Be glad to fail and fail again. Every experience, including the worst of them, gives us something extra to carry with us.
So that "thing" you keep putting off, that opportunity you're too scared to take, that conversation you're avoiding. . . JUST DO IT! You'll thank yourself for it afterwards.
Your soul isn't interested in whether you do it perfectly. It's only interested in whether you do it.
